The eleven Verkaals


 The Verkaal ('gods' in meruk language) is a group of devine beings, who presides over many aspects of nature and world. They also rules over unearthly objects and dimensions. The existence of Verkaals is only found in ancient texts and scripts. Although, some occurrences indicate that Verkaals still does exist and controls the nature.

The Verkaals is often described as immortals. They can die physically, but after their seemingly death, they can regenerate their body from the tuum or soul. Verkaals possess incredible powers beyond human imagination. The texts says that, the planets and their each object is created by the Verkaals.

There are eleven major Verkaals and seventeen laser Verkaals according to the ancient scripts. The first Verkaal to come into existence is Mundag, the goddess of chaos and war. Then came agom, her brother. Agom created Varim, Zagag and Umverokk from his music. Varim created Bhan, Hiri, Rad and Ruk. Mundag choose Ruk as her consort and gave birth to Shel and Narar. These eleven Verkaals resides in the trident mountains. All other Verkaals choose Bhan as their leader.

They are worshipped all over Dhara. Sometimes some specific clans worship specific deities. Like, the Meruks worship Bhan, Manasis worship Ruk, Denugis worship Mundag, Nerons worship Hiri etc. The others Verkaals are also worshiped by aforementioned people. There are also worshipping based on profession. Like, farmers worship Narar, Smiths worship Shel, healers worship Zagag etc.

Verkaals are shapeshifters and can take any form. Each Verkaal has a mount to ride. They also has different symbols and emblems. The ancient book of Gidharavoluuk describes them as,

Mundag - axe

Agom - horn

Varim - book

Zagag - leaf

Umverokk - snake

Bhan - sun

Hiri - wheel

Rad - golden pot

Ruk - moose horn

Shel - shield

Narar - lightning bolt


The major Verkaals took many humans as their consort and produced 17 half Verkaal children. They were known as Averkaals. It is said that, King himak, the Progenitor of meruli dynasty was an Averkaal, although Some of the ancient books doesn’t verify any kind of existence of Averkaals. Still, the Averkaals are seen as respected beings and worshipped all over Dhara.
