It was founded by king Kasha and is ruled by the Meruli dynasty. Meru owns the largest foot army of Dhara. The emperor of Meru holds the title, ' Supreme ruler'.

History

The known history of Dhara began around 1500 years ago. The free clans settled in Dhara and lived harsh lives. Most of the occurrences happened then are found in ancient texts and scripts. 600 years ago, first meruli king Kasha convinced the free clans to build the city of Meru. For the next 300 years, the meruli dynasty forged the strongest and the largest empire in history, the Meru empire. King Laha was the first emperor of Meru, and he is the one responsible for their victory in Battle of the ten kings. Other large kingdoms of Dhara, named Adital, Peruk, Rudhar and Meruvar, were conquered by the Meru empire, but still remains as separate kingdoms. The kings of those kingdoms kneel only before the emperor and accepts him as the supreme ruler.

Politics

The Meru empire has a bittersweet relationship with other three regions of Dhara. Manas and Meru were considered friends before the battle of Golok. The arrival of the Nerons caused a rift between Meru and Manas. The Manasis stood with Nerons, but the Merulis wanted them banished. After the war Meru attempted to conquer the Manas region three times. But due to cruel weather and harsh landscapes, they discarded their quest.

The great island of Golok is seen as the sworn enemy of Meru empire. But the Nerons had grew so powerful, that Meruli kings never tried to launch an attack on them. The Denug region is mostly deserts and drylands, but rich with multiple gold and copper mines. As it is also too far from Meru, and due to zagged landscape, Meru never tried to conquer that area.

Geography and culture

The weather of Meru is mostly grasslands and some mountains. The highest mountain of Dhara, 'Ruk', is situated in Meru. Meru has other three mountain ranges named Vindak, Tevum and Gara. The west side of Meru is often covered in snow during winter. There is also a small desert in the north side of Meru. The river Mandak flows through the heart of Meru. There are more than 15 rivers in the whole empire. The culture of Meru is the dominant one in Dhara. They worship the sun god 'Bhan'. Other gods are also worshiped, like Ruk, Mundag, Rad etc. The people of Meru celebrate the festivals of new year, day of Ruk, the dawn (marriage day of Bhan) and Victory of king Laha. They also celebrate the birthdays and marriage anniversary of their current rulers.
